Anytime: Looking for Mobile Phone Users (Android OS) as Study Participants

Researchers at University of Geneva, Quality of Life team, would like to invite volunteers to participate in a research study, which purpose is to gather data on how participants use their mobile phone throughout their everyday activities and in different context and what is their subjective experience for different applications. By studying this, we hope to help designers of applications for these phones.

The study will be conducted at ANY time (according to your disponibility) and it involves 4 weeks (i.e., 28 days) of unobtrusive data logging on your Android OS mobile phone. The study will involve that you answer a short survey (appearing on the screen of your mobile phone) after each mobile application usage (email, web, gaming, etc); the experiment constitutes of no more than 8‐12 surveys requested to be answered in 24h. The survey will ask you to rate your mobile application usage experience from bad (1) to excellent (5). In some cases, the study may also involve a visit in the QoL lab (University of Geneva, Battelle location) for an interview. The estimated time for the interview is 30 minutes.

Participation in this study is limited to individuals of age 18 and older owning an Android OS phone (OS version 2.1 or higher). Participants will be compensated upon the completion of the study.
